New channel — Email with Resend (BYOC)
How Wroups sends and receives email with your own Resend credentials (or SMTP), without messaging markup.
WhatsApp is the main channel for many operations. Even so, there are moments when email fits better: formal confirmations, calendar reminders with a thread, long quotes, or customers who “live” in Outlook.
Wroups now treats email as a real channel — with the same Bring Your Own Credentials logic.
What you can do
- Connect Resend (API key + from) or generic SMTP in Settings → Email.
- Create markdown templates (with HTML preview) in Email templates.
- Send from workflows (for example calendar reminders).
- Receive inbound replies via Resend Receiving (domain + webhook) and open them as email conversations in the inbox.
Why Resend
Resend is a modern sending provider with a clean API, good DX, and your own domain. You create the account, verify the domain, and paste the API key into Wroups. Wroups doesn’t resell email packs or markup: you use your account and your limits.
SMTP is still available if your operation already has a corporate relay.
Quick setup
- Create an account at resend.com and verify your domain.
- In Wroups: Settings → Email → save API key and “from” address.
- Send a test from the same screen.
- Publish a template in Email templates.
- Optional: configure inbound domain if you want replies in the inbox.
- Use the email channel in a workflow (collections, appointment confirmation, nurture).

WhatsApp + Email, not one or the other
The healthy pattern:
- WhatsApp for speed and conversation.
- Email when you need an archive, long attachments, or a more formal tone.
- One contact / CRM in Wroups so you don’t split context.
